Basketball Recap: Jefferson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Leto

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 74-61 to the Leto Falcons. One positive for the Dragons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Jefferson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinten Story, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deion Andrew, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Jefferson was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakobe Bruton, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Bruton is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Vazquez, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five steals.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Leto, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-33 defeat against Freedom on the 4th. As for Leto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-25 loss against Gaither on the 4th.
