Baseball Recap: Cajon Comes Up Short

Cajon extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 17-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yucaipa Thunderbirds. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunderbirds earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Cajon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Yucaipa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

On Yucaipa's side, they got a great performance from Logan Pashman as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Damian Cordero was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

While Cajon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
