Softball Recap: Ames Takes a Loss

Ames came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Xavier Saints by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Little Cyclones have suffered since July 8, 2024.

Ames' defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Xavier, the win keeps they at an undefeated 20-0.

Coming up, Ames will head out to take on Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Xavier, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Boone on the 14th.
