Basketball Recap: Brian Dempsey Key Part of Team Effort in Saints Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seton Catholic Central had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They took down the Oneonta Yellowjackets 62-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 76-75 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Dempsey, who shot 54% from the field en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Dempsey is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Allan Eagles, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.

The win made it two in a row for Seton Catholic Central and bumps their season record up to 18-3. As for Oneonta, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Seton Catholic Central will challenge Maine-Endwell at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday. Seton Catholic Central will be up against Maine-Endwell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.38 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Oneonta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
