The home team had come away the winner the last six times Lisbon and Mountain Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Greyhounds walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Falcons on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Greyhounds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mackenzie Eaton was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Eaton was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Lisbon got a big performance out of Aubriana Bright, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brook Norman, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lisbon's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Mountain Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lisbon is set to square off against their familiar foe Spruce Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Greyhounds have won three straight at home, while the Phoenix won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Mountain Valley will take on rival Winthrop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
