Basketball Recap: Bedford Comes Up Short

Bedford played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-17 loss at the hands of the Warrensville Heights Tigers. The game marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Warrensville Heights' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skyler Ballard led the charge by going 8 of 11 en route to 20 points along with eight assists and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Ballard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Demarionna Branch, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 22 points.

Bedford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Warrensville Heights, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bedford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-26 defeat against Canton South on the 27th. As for Warrensville Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-42 loss against Avon Lake on the 25th.
