Softball Recap: Brookland's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against McCrory last Thursday, Brookland came back down to earth. The Brookland Bearcats fell just short of the Searcy Lions by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Brookland's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Searcy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Brookland has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Quitman on the 15th. As for Searcy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against Wynne on the 15th.
