Softball Recap: Spackenkill Has No Trouble Against Red Hook

Spackenkill won the last time they faced Red Hook and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Cadie Hanaburgh made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Hanaburgh was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adriana Alessandro was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Ashleigh Burgess was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Spackenkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Spackenkill's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Red Hook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
