Baseball Recap: Sutter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sutter and Del Campo squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sutter had to settle for second. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Sam Cheatle put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cheatle wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonny Munger, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Landyn Singh, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Sutter's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-5. As for Del Campo, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-12-1.

As of now, neither Sutter nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
