Soccer Game Preview: South Ripley vs. Oldenburg Academy

South Ripley is 0-9 against Oldenburg Academy since September of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Raiders will face off against the Twisters at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with South Ripley sitting on three straight victories and Oldenburg Academy on six.

South Ripley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Rising Sun a 2-0 shutout.

Madison Melton was the driving force of South Ripley's attack as she scored both of South Ripley's goals, bringing her season total up to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Oldenburg Academy made easy work of Switzerland County on Thursday and carried off a 4-0 win. Oldenburg Academy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matches.

Oldenburg Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-0-1. As for South Ripley, their win bumped their record up to 8-6-1.

South Ripley suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Oldenburg Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Raiders were down 8-0.
