Volleyball Recap: Yuma Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Yuma Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Odyssey Institute Minotaur 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Shamrocks: when they faced off against the Minotaur back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

While Yuma Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-23.

Annie Scarborough paced Yuma Catholic's offense, picking up 11 kills. Scarborough got some help from Natalie Lawseth and her 24 assists. Finally, Scarborough was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Yuma Catholic's win bumped their record up to 29-2. As for Odyssey Institute, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-12.

Looking ahead, Yuma Catholic will face off against Tonopah Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Odyssey Institute, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Kingman on the 25th.
