Softball Recap: Gray's Creek Bears vs. South View Tigers
Gray's Creek dropped their record down to 20-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the South View Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Bears were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Tigers' pitcher proved too tough.
Hailey McFarley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.
On the hitting side, Gray's Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazelle Young, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As for South View, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 25, 2024.

At the plate, PAIGE FORD was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
