Basketball Recap: Olentangy Orange Comes Up Short

Olentangy Orange suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Upper Arlington Golden Bears by a score of 52-50. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 15th).

Olentangy Orange's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Upper Arlington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olentangy Orange won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Shelby at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Upper Arlington, they will face off against Dublin Coffman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
