Jonathan Alder took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against London, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Red Raiders on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pioneers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Taryn Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riley Magginis was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Engle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for London, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Jonathan Alder has already played their next contest, a 14-3 loss against Shawnee on the 10th. As for London, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Miami Trace on the 10th.
