Volleyball Recap: Fishers Comes Up Short

Fishers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Carmel Greyhounds. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Greyhounds when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Fishers ultimately came up short, they really made Carmel work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24, 25-20.

Milana Mays paced Fishers' offense, picking up seven kills. Mays were helped by Caitlyn Gutt and Ava Tester, who contributed 13 assists each. Finally, Mays was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Fishers' loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Carmel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Fishers has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Brownsburg on the 18th. As for Carmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against North Central on the 23rd.
