Basketball Game Preview: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Boyd Yellowjackets

The Pilot Point Bearcats will venture away from home to square off against the Boyd Yellowjackets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pilot Point comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Point took on Ponder on Tuesday. Pilot Point had to suffer through a 85-20 loss at the hands of Ponder. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1317th, while the Lions are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, Boyd was beaten by Ponder 75-41 on Friday.

Boyd's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pilot Point, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Pilot Point came up short against Boyd in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 52-40. Can Pilot Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
