Football Recap: Northwest Catholic Wins Going Away Against Farmington

Northwest Catholic won the last time they faced Farmington and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the River Hawks. The Lions pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the River Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Vincent Burbank was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 225 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 52 yards and one score on only seven carries. Northwest Catholic also got a significant boost from Kaedean Stewart, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Northwest Catholic didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Farmington to a completion percentage of just 47.2%. The Lions weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 70.8%.

Northwest Catholic has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.5 points this season. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Northwest Catholic will challenge Joel Barlow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Farmington, they will face off against Edwin O. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the River Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
