Owyhee is a perfect 4-0 against Meridian since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Owyhee will look to defend their home field against Meridian at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Owyhee has 29 straight wins, Meridian has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Owyhee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Kuna, who was ranked 16th at the time (Owyhee was ranked second). Owyhee walked away with a 7-3 victory over Kuna on Friday.
Kaleb Doty tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Owyhee let Gage Haws and Easton Price run wild. Haws scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4, while Price scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four hits gave Haws a new career-high. Nathan Keith was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Owyhee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kuna only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Meridian fell victim to Mountain View and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 13-0 to the Mavericks.
Owyhee pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Owyhee's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. Owyhee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Meridian, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Owyhee continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Owyhee's way against Meridian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Owyhee made off with an 11-1 win. Does Owyhee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meridian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
