Volleyball Recap: Versailles Comes Up Short

Versailles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Smith-Cotton.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19.

Smith-Cotton can attribute much of their success to Piper Cantrell, who had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Cantrell has posted over her last six matches.

Versailles' defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-2. As for Smith-Cotton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12-3.

Looking ahead, Versailles will take on El Dorado Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Smith-Cotton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Camdenton on the 2nd.
