Softball Game Preview: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Fluvanna County Flying Flucos

Charlottesville hasn't had much luck against Fluvanna County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Black Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Flying Flucos at 6:00 p.m. Charlottesville has given up an average of 17.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Charlottesville fell victim to Orange County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to the Fighting Hornets. The Black Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Charlottesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Fluvanna County has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (13-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Charlottesville's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Fluvanna County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Charlottesville might still be hurting after the 22-1 loss they got from Fluvanna County when the teams last played on April 8th. Can the Black Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
