After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Camden Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stewart County Rebels, sneaking past 4-3. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.
Camden Central got a great performance from Ethen Ingram as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those hits were Ingram's first of the season.
At the plate, Amaury Rogers was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
With the victory, Camden Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-11. As for Stewart County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Camden Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Stewart County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
