The Whetstone Braves will face off against the Hamilton Township Rangers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whetstone is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season.

Whetstone took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over East. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Avery Bair made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lija Barzdukas was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gabby Milane, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Township came up short against West Jefferson on Thursday, falling 19-5. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Whetstone's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hamilton Township, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Whetstone beat Hamilton Township 11-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whetstone since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
