Basketball Recap: Naples Comes Up Short

Naples entered their matchup against Charlotte on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Naples Golden Eagles were dealt a 79-49 defeat at the hands of the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Fightin' Tarpons are ranked 74th).

Naples' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Charlotte, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Naples and NSU University will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in NSU University's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Charlotte, they will take on Helias in a tournament on December 27th.
