Softball Recap: Carroll Has No Trouble Against Samson

Carroll not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th. Everything went their way against the Samson Tigers as the Carroll Eagles made off with a 13-4 victory. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 8-5 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.

The team relied heavily on Makynzye Bonner, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Landrum, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Samson's loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Carroll will have a chance to go back-to-back against Samson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
