Basketball Recap: Great Bridge Comes Up Short

Great Bridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Branch Bruins. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Suki Warden was her usual excellent self, putting up 34 points for Western Branch. Warden's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Lemasters, who posted ten points.

Great Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Western Branch, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

Coincidentally, Great Bridge and Western Branch will both be playing King's Fork the next time they take the court. Great Bridge will head out to face King's Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Western Branch will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
