Basketball Recap: South Park Comes Up Short

South Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 51-27 to the Cotopaxi Pirates. The Burros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-8.

Leading Cotopaxi to victory were Terrance Evans and Kenny Teter. Evans dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Teter dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Evans has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joel Tezak, who posted ten points.

South Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cotopaxi, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

South Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-17 defeat against Sanford on the 24th. As for Cotopaxi, they will face off against Sierra Grande at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sierra Grande is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
