Baseball Recap: Franklin Monroe Takes a Loss

If Franklin Monroe was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Houston last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jets lost 14-7 to the Fort Recovery Indians on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jets of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Matthew Hurley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Braden Gilbert was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Franklin Monroe now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fort Recovery, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Franklin Monroe will take on Twin Valley South at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Jets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Fort Recovery, they will challenge Adams Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
