Baseball Recap: South-Doyle Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

South-Doyle won the last time they faced Pigeon Forge and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cherokees came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-5.

Hunter Tipton was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. South-Doyle is undefeated when Tipton posts two or more runs, but 8-14-1 otherwise. Cale Victory was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

South-Doyle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

South-Doyle's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-14-1. As for Pigeon Forge, their record now sits at 11-7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South-Doyle will host Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
