Softball Recap: Saginaw Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Saginaw and Brewer meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Saginaw Rough Riders lost 18-2 to the Brewer Bears. The Rough Riders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Saginaw saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhyan Angles, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Angles has posted since back in April of 2024.

Saginaw's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Brewer, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Looking ahead, Saginaw will square off against Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aledo will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Saginaw surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brewer, they will take on Granbury at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something Brewer will no doubt try to take advantage of.
