Volleyball Recap: Bishop Walsh Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Calvary Christian Academy

Bishop Walsh faced Calvary Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Spartans fell 3-1 to Calvary Christian Academy. The Spartans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

The final score came out to 25-21, 15-25, 25-15, 25-18.

Calvary Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madie Robinette, who had 20 digs, 18 kills, and five aces. Robinette is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Olivia McCumber was another key player, getting 20 digs, six kills, and five aces.

Bishop Walsh's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7-1.

Coincidentally, Bishop Walsh and Calvary Christian Academy will both be playing Grace Academy the next time they take the court. Calvary Christian Academy will host the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on the 23rd.
