Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Eastlake

Eastlake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Juanita Ravens. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in April.

Rodrigo Montano made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Montano wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Wood, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Juanita, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

Eastlake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Lake Stevens on the 10th. Juanita does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
