Basketball Recap: Cedar Grove Skates Past Clark with Ease

On Friday, the Cedar Grove Saints took their matchup with ease, bagging an 87-33 victory over the Clark Eagles. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Emanuel Green was his usual excellent self, putting up 33 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yusef Bowyer, who posted 14 points.

Cedar Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Clark, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Cedar Grove won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Brooklyn Collegiate at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Cedar Grove's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Clark, they and Southwest DeKalb will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Southwest DeKalb has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
