Baseball Recap: Lenoir City Comes Up Short

Lenoir City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Heritage Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Tuesday.

Lenoir City got a good showing from Noah Morton, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Morton has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lenoir City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Lovell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lenoir City's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Lenoir City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-6 defeat against Macon County on the 27th. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 win against Webb on the 27th.
