Softball Recap: Bonham Beats Collinsville for Their Third Straight Win

Bonham entered their tilt with Collinsville on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Collinsville Pirates 9-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jewyll Hemby was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Baylee Pendergrass also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bonham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Collinsville only posted an OBP of .222.

Bonham's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.33 hits in those games compared to only 3.6 in the others. As for Collinsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonham will venture away from home to square off against Pilot Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will head out on the road to challenge Tom Bean at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tom Bean has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.75 runs per game on average), something Collinsville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
