Softball Recap: Silverado Wins Going Away Against Moreno Valley

Silverado was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Moreno Valley on Friday. The Silverado Hawks were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over the Moreno Valley Vikings. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Alexis Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Valerie Beltran, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyzzah Piceno, who went 1-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

The victory got Silverado back to even at 1-1. As for Moreno Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Silverado will challenge San Gorgonio at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Moreno Valley, they will take on Norte Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
