Baseball Recap: Greenhills Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Greenhills has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.92 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They put the hurt on the Erie-Mason Eagles with a sharp 22-11 win. The Gryphons haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Berry made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kade Mason was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Talen Pilz, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Greenhills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Greenhills pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Erie-Mason, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Greenhills will face off against Gabriel Richard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Erie-Mason, they will take on Lenawee Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
