Basketball Recap: Leland Comes Up Short

Leland played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Aurora Christian Eagles 71-37. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-12.

Gunnar Nelson and Declan Brennan certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Nelson posted 16 points and five boards, while Brennan almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Brennan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last four games he's played.

Leland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Aurora Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

As of now, neither Leland nor Aurora Christian have any future games scheduled.
