Softball Game Preview: McNary Celtics vs. West Salem Titans

The McNary Celtics will take on the West Salem Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Salem will be up against a hot McNary team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Celtics blew past Newberg 15-1 on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Salem). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Sprague a 25-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won seven games in a row.

McNary pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Salem, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

McNary suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to West Salem in their previous meeting last Friday. Can the Celtics avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
