Basketball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 41-32 to the Mandarin Mustangs. The Generals lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-17 score last time.

Reese Holman was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards for Mandarin. The contest was Holman's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Mosley, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Mandarin, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Riverside and Mandarin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Riverside (ranked 351st) will meet Tocoi Creek (ranked 54th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Mandarin (ranked 301st) will meet Ribault (ranked 48th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
