Manitou Springs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Peyton by a score of 59-56.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-31 win over Woodland Park.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elizabeth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryan Jeffs, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Brinkworth, who scored 9 points.
Manitou Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Elizabeth, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
