Volleyball Recap: Hardin Comes Up Short

Hardin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Helena Vigilantes. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vigilantes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Hardin started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-17, 15-8.

Liberty Koyama paced Hardin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Koyama got some help from Lucy Baker and her 44 assists. Finally, Taylor Slater kept Hardin's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Hardin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for East Helena, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hardin is set to take on their familiar foe Lockwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Helena will face off against rival Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
