Basketball Recap: Mountain Pointe Takes a Loss

Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Meade County Green Waves and fell 68-20. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 176th in Arizona, while the Green Waves are ranked 24th in Kentucky).

It was another big night for Peyton Bradley, who posted 27 points in addition to six assists and three steals for Meade County. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycelyn Nevitt, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Mountain Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Meade County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Mountain Pointe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Meade County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-48 defeat against Douglass on the 19th.
