Baseball Game Preview: Baldwin Bulldogs vs. Paola Panthers

Baldwin is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Paola is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will welcome the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Baldwin will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Eudora, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Paola never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bishop Ward as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Paola's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Baldwin, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-6.

Baldwin came out on top in a nail-biter against Paola when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
