Volleyball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bethel Jaguars.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Franklin sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 15-11.

Edgar Paredes paced Franklin's offense, picking up six kills. Paredes got some help from Tyrone Adams and his seven assists. Paredes also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Lazarus Moore, racking up three apiece.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bethel, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Franklin and Bethel will both be playing El Capitan the next time they take the court. Bethel will head out to face El Capitan at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Franklin will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
