The Blue Hills RVT Warriors will head out to square off against the Old Colony RVT Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Hills RVT knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Old Colony RVT likes a good challenge.
Blue Hills RVT proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bristol County Agricultural, sneaking past 15-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 1, 2024.
Caitlin Beaucage was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Sylvia Cull was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-6.
Blue Hills RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Old Colony RVT was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 20-0 to Bristol-Plymouth RVT. The Cougars have struggled against the Craftsmen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Blue Hills RVT's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Old Colony RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Old Colony RVT's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Blue Hills RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 18 hits per game. It's a different story for Old Colony RVT, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Blue Hills RVT's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Blue Hills RVT might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Old Colony RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
