Basketball Recap: Eno River Bobcats vs. Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions
Even though the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Eno River Bobcats still came out on top. Eno River walked away with a 62-55 victory over the Flying Lions. That's another feather in the cap for Eno River, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Eno River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Creedle out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Creedle hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Vaughn Clough, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Excelsior Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Goss, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Goss hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for 11 straight games. Tyler Hill was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Eno River's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eno River will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roxboro Community is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Voyager is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.
