Volleyball Recap: Soham Makkena Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Dracut

North Andover won the last time they faced Dracut and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Scarlet Knights walked away with a 3-1 win over the Middies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scarlet Knights.

While North Andover might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Dracut scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21.

North Andover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Soham Makkena, who had 12 assists and three digs. Those 12 assists gave Makkena a new career-high.

North Andover was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The victory got North Andover back to even at 8-8. As for Dracut, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Coming up, North Andover will head out to challenge Lowell at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dracut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greater Lawrence Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
