Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelton). Everything went their way against the All Saints Episcopal Trojans on Wednesday as Shelton made off with a 12-4 victory. The Chargers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.
Weston Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only four walks, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Graham Bishop was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Andrew Busker was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
The win made it two in a row for Shelton and bumps their season record up to 4-7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
