Basketball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. San Lorenzo Grizzlies

Encinal is on a three-game streak of home losses, San Lorenzo a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Encinal Jets will get right back to it and host the San Lorenzo Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Encinal was beaten by Archie Williams 85-43. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 554th, while the Peregrine Falcons are ranked 171st).

Meanwhile, San Lorenzo came up short against Mt. Eden on Wednesday and fell 59-46.

San Lorenzo's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Encinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Encinal might still be hurting after the 68-43 loss they got from San Lorenzo when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Encinal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
