Soccer Game Preview: Palma vs. Watsonville

The Palma Chieftains will head out on the road to face off against the Watsonville Wildcatz at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Palma is headed into the matchup having not lost since the ninth and will look to keep things rolling. Everything went their way against Salinas on Monday as Palma made off with a 4-1 victory. Considering the Chieftains have won five games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Watsonville kept a clean sheet against King City on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcatz yet this season.

Alexis Castillo and Orlando Valtierra scored all three of Watsonville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Palma is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matchups. As for Watsonville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-6.
